Bairaha continues with its  ‘Help to Learn 2023’ initiative by assisting employees’ children

Bairaha Farms PLC, Sri Lanka’s leading processor and supplier of healthy and nutritious chicken products, held the main ceremony of the ‘Help to Learn’ project at its Primary Processing Factory on December 28, 2022.

The occasion was graced by Bairaha Farms PLC Executive Director Riyal Yakoob and Operations Director M.I. Wahid, along with Senior Managers, Officers, and employees accompanied by around 100 children. The Maulawi of the Ellalamulla Mosque and the Principal of the Ellalamulla Primary College together with the Grama Niladari of the area also attended the event as special guests.

“As a socially responsible, committed and wholehearted organization, we are delighted to conduct this annual initiative and actively facilitate and motivate the future generations to reach commendable heights and success in their academic studies with this initiative, while offering a helping hand to the children and also relieves part of the financial burden of the employees” noted Bairaha Farms PLC Managing Director Yakooth Naleem.

This programme has benefitted students from grades 01 to 13 and beneficiaries being around 600 students who were provided with school bags, books as well as stationary and other items deemed as essential by the school.

The company initiated this welfare project in 2018, with a sincere intention to help the children of its employees, which has been successfully held annually.

The company has so far invested Rs.3 million into the initiative, and has upheld the objective of hosting such an initiative- to offer a helping hand to its employees, to enable them to provide their children with a free environment to continue their studies, up until they reach higher education.

Bairaha Farms PLC is the pioneer in poultry production, with a rich history of over 47 years of history. The company’s production operations are vertically integrated; starting from the sourcing of raw materials for poultry feed manufacturing up to the point of processing of chicken and value added chicken meat products for sale. The company has a steady growth trajectory, and has been the recipient of many local and international accolades.
