Bodhu Bala Sena gets approval of name as company limited by liability

April, 29, 2014

The Bodhu Bala Sena organization has obtained a name under the Clause 34 of the Companies Act No. 07 of 2007 to register as a company limited by liability, says the Registrar General of Companies.

The name for which the approval has been granted is the ‘Bodhu Bala Sena Jalaya’ or the Bodhu Bala Sena Network, says Registrar General of Companies D.N.R. Siriwardena.

Within three months of this approval it could register itself as a limited liability company, said Mr. Siriwardena.
The largest limited liability company in Sri Lanka is the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE).

While non-profit and charity organizations are registered as companies limited by liability, the Registrar General of Companies told AdaderanaBiz that the Bodhu Bala Sena Jalaya has been given approval as a company limited by liability under Clause 34 of the Companies Act No. 07 of 2007.

Non-profit organizations (NGOs) are registered under this Clause.

However, while participating at a media conference in Colombo, Bodhu Bala Sena coordinator Dilan Vithanage said that the rumors claiming the Bodhu Bala Sena has registered itself as a company is false.
