The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal tabled by Minister of Education to implement 'e - thaksalawa' programme as the official online learning portal in the schools and other education institutions functioning under the Ministry of Education.

The Ministry of Education has already taken measures to implement the ‘e – thaksalawa’ programme as an online programme with a view to continue educational activities of the school students without constrains as a remedy to the situation erupted due to COVID - 19 pandemic conditions.

The programme allows school children to gain access to school textbooks, syllabuses, learning contents, video lessons, question papers, multiple choice questions etc pertaining to the syllabuses from grade 1 to 13.
