Ceylon Oxygen Limited (COL), a subsidiary of leading gases and engineering company, The Linde Plc.

On 1st May 2020 a contract employee of Ceylon Oxygen Limited’s (COL), based at Colombo-15 site, tested positive for COVID-19 whist dealing with a customer. He is currently under medical observation at the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) and is currently recovering fast. We further tested 45 staff members from the same team of workers who were working in isolation and all of whom have tested negative.

Considering this development, Colombo-15 site has been placed under immediate lockdown for a period of 48 hours to undertake a deep clean of the employee work areas and the common areas on site. The safety and wellbeing of all our employees is our number one priority. The site will reopen on Monday 4th May 2020 and will resume operations for essential services complying to the curfew restrictions imposed by the Government.

COL has robust business continuity plans (BCP) in place, and they are implemented across all facilities. The COL team is committed to supporting its customers through these unprecedented times, and will continue to serve the customers under heightened safety and hygiene measures.
