A South Asian story of showcasing Couture 17, 18 & 19 September

Colombo Fashion Week introduces CFW Couture + Trousseau this September, presented through the lens of art and themed as 'Living Sculpture'. For the first time, a runway becomes the artwork, with breathtaking sculptures created by the renowned Prageeth Manohansa. These sculptures, forming the space around which the collections move, will turn the catwalk into a living, breathing gallery.

This edition brings together designers from China, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, each interpreting couture as artistic inspiration, with high fashion defined by artistry, craftsmanship and the singular vision of the maker. Couture has always been where fashion meets art, and this edition puts that at its centre. The sculptures are the work of Prageeth Manohansa, one of Sri Lanka's most prominent sculptors, known for transforming scrap metal into large-scale works of movement and emotion. His installations form the stage, the backdrop and the muse for every look that walks past them.

Over its 23 years, Colombo Fashion Week has introduced and shaped the Sri Lankan fashion design industry through bold, relevant themes, each one a statement of where the industry was heading. CFW Couture + Trousseau marks its most ambitious exploration of fashion and art to date.

Ajai Vir Singh, Founder & Managing Director, Colombo Fashion Week, stated: "Couture is where fashion stops being clothing and starts being art. We wanted the runway to reflect that, so the sculptures aren't decoration, they're the conversation the garments are having with the room. CFW Couture + Trousseau 2026 is presented by Nations Trust Bank along with Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams as venue partner, along with Lanka Walltiles, Vision Care, Hameedia and Ramani Fernando.
