Colombo Dockyard Successfully Enters Into a Contract with Kowa Company Ltd of Japan to Supply a Pilot Boat

Colombo Dockyard PLC (CDPLC) has successfully entered into a contract with Kowa Company Ltd (KOWA) of Japan to supply a pilot boat.

The contract was signed on 16th of December 2019 at CDPLC Head Office.

Mr. Kazushige Nishiguchi, Department Manager – Ship & Infrastructure Department of KOWA and Mr. Hideaki Tanaka, Chairman of CDPLC signed the contract.

Mr. Yoshiyuki Takii, Sales and Marketing of KOWA, Mr. Aditya Tripathi, Deputy Manager of KOWA INDIA and from CDPLC Mr. D.V. Abeysinghe, Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Kumpei Kanaya, Director, Mr. Yoshihiro Saki, Director/ Technical Advisor, Mr. Lal Hettiarachchi, General Manager – Projects & Engineering and  management personnel participated at this special occasion.

This 19m pilot boat is a proven design developed by MACDUFF Scotland. This boat will serve to transport pilots from shore to ship. It can accommodate a total number of 12 persons and it can achieve a speed of 20 knots.
