The overall inflation rate, as measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) on a year-on-year (Y-o-Y) basis, increased to 6.8% in June 2026 from 5.5% in May 2026, according to the Department of Census and Statistics.

Meanwhile, Y-o-Y inflation in the Food Group increased to 3.6% in June 2026, compared to 0.9% in May 2026, while Y-o-Y inflation in the Non-Food Group rose to 8.4% in June 2026, from 7.8% in May 2026.
