Aiming to equip the emerging workforce with the necessary skills to navigate the post-pandemic trend towards a more transient and digitally connected corporate environment, the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will host a virtual Career Lead programme for the final year students of the University of Vavuniya on 4th January 2022 organized by Career Guidance Unit of University of Vavuniya.
The programme will focus on ‘Working Smart on a Virtual Platform’ and will familiarize students with the now mainstream digital communication platforms such as email and WhatsApp, virtual meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom, as well as other collaborative work and communication platforms commonly used in today’s workplace. Conducted by Mr. Manjula de Silva, CEO of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, the workshop will share information on leveraging digital communication tools effectively, as well as protocols and common pitfalls across various platforms.
‘Effective and responsible communication and digital versatility are increasingly sought after and defining career skills. Equipping the youth with the means to wield these skills confidently will give them the opportunity to secure an edge and succeed in their chosen careers’, Mr. de Silva stated.

Corporate partners of the programme are English Tea Shop, Lalan Rubber (Pvt) Ltd., Talawakelle Tea Estates PLC, Horana Plantations PLC, Kelani Valley Plantations PLC, Damro Exports (Pvt) Ltd. and Pussellawa Plantations Ltd.
The workshop will be conducted from 9.30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. on 4th January, 2022 via MS Teams.
