CTC appoints director with 25 years experience in tobacco industry

Ceylon Tobacco Company PLC which holds the monopoly is the cigarette business in Sri Lanka has appointed Kennet George Allen, an Australian with 25 years of experience in the tobacco industry as a non executive director of the company from 07 October.

Ceylon Tobacco Company’s Board of Directors include Susantha Ratnayake (Chairman), Felicio Ferraz (Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director), Steffan Mathieson (Finance Director) and Non Executive Directors Premila Perera, Javed Iqbal, Dinesh Weerakkody and Kennet George Allen.

Kennet George Allen has begun his career in 1988 with Rothmans in Australia as a Management Accountant. In 1999 he moved to British American Tobacco and since then has held several senior finance appointments which include Operations Finance Manager, Corporate Finance Manager for British American Tobacco, New Zealand and Supply Chain Finance Manager & Financial Controller for British American Tobacco for Australasia.

Currently he is the Head of Regional Operations Finance and is based in Singapore.

Ken Allen holds a degree in Commerce with Accounting Major from University of Western Sydney and is a Qualified Certified Public Accountant of Australia.
