Deloitte Report Highlights NSBM’s Decade of National Impact

An economic impact assessment conducted by Deloitte FAS (Pvt.) Ltd. has highlighted the contribution of NSBM Green University to Sri Lanka’s economy over the past decade, while operating as a self-financed entity.

According to the assessment, NSBM has served more than 41,000 students, produced 22,855 graduates, and generated an estimated LKR 115.5 billion in cumulative Gross Value Added to the Sri Lankan economy during its first decade.

The assessment found that 86% of surveyed graduates are in permanent employment, while 74% are working in fields related to their studies.

The study also estimates approximately USD 337.8 million in annual foreign exchange savings through students pursuing higher education locally, while economic activity associated with the University supports more than 22,000 livelihoods in the Homagama area.

The assessment further recognises  NSBM’s contribution to sustainability and community development, including approximately 233 CSR initiatives undertaken between 2021 and 2026.

The overall findings of the Deloitte assessment highlight NSBM’s growing contribution to Sri Lanka through human capital development, employment, foreign exchange retention, regional economic activity and sustainable development.
