The 2021 edition of DEV DAY, the annual international developer conference is going to launch this November 8th to November 12th as a Virtual event due to the prevailing pandemic situation of the country for the 9th consecutive year.
At the conference, among other things, participants will learn skills to become a better software craftsman with contemporary technologies, and how to make their team work more effectively together.

Q - What is DEV DAY?
A. DEV DAY is an international software developer conference for all ICT professionals working in the multifaceted ICT business, including programmers, developers, project managers, and Scrum Masters. Among other things, you will learn how to become a better software craftsman using modern technologies at the conference, as well as how to help your team operate more successfully together.
It’s a great platform for everyone related to the IT industry to collaborate, share knowledge and make connections. Dev day is focusing on not only existing industry experts it also focusing on future of IT industry by collaborating with Software Engineering students from local and international universities.
Q - Tell us about DEV DAY 2021 event
A - DEV DAY is Sri Lanka’s largest software developer conference happening for the 9th consecutive year aiming to inspire techies. Due to current situation this time this will be happening as a virtual Event. We have completed successful physical events before the COVID-19 pandemic and in 2020 we have launched the event online with many local and foreign participants.
Same as last year this year also we though to continue with the same platform due to safety precautions in this pandemic situation. This year dev day week we have more than 15 speakers onboard, and we are expecting more than 2000 foreign and local participants. In this year event, we have much more interesting sessions line up and we are trying to deliver the best technology knowledge about latest technology trends.
Q - What is the theme and objectives of this year event?
A - This year DEV DAY theme is “Embrace the digital revolution”. Idea behind this theme is to give an awareness of Inspiring and adapting technological trends in the new normal and move along with the revolution. As you see the Covid -19 situation has changed the way we live.
Technology plays a major part of connecting people and events around the world as well as in small contexts such as even within the members of the same family. When physical world creates a distance between human interactions, the digital world comes to alive. This is an era
of true revolution of technology, I would say. So, we were inspired by these current practice situations and we want to talk about practicality of using technology on this year event. Also, during this year conference week as a participant, you will get enormous number of benefits such as, to get engage with the world class experience tech speakers and professionals from the industry. Also, participants can have interactive session and improve their knowledge on technological trends utilizing the Q&A slots after every session.
