Dialog waives off charges for a day

Sri Lanka's Dialog network today announced that all Voice Call and SMS charges incurred by its costumers on Wednesday (20) will be waived in full, due to the disturbance to Mobile Services experienced on that date.

“We regret the inconvenience caused due to the disturbance to Mobile Services on 20/09/17,” the service provide a said in a text message sent to all customers.

“As a token of gratitude, your Voice Call charges (Local, IDD, Roaming) and SMS charges incurred on 20/9 will be waived in full. You will receive this waiver as a credit to your bill.”

The waiver of charges will be afforded to both Prepaid and Postpaid customers.

The service provide had announced yesterday that the disturbance to Voice and SMS services occurred due to a power systems failure at one of the key network nodes, which resulted in congestion in other parts of the network.

It said that Dialog Mobile Services were fully restored in less than 60 minutes.
