Federation of Information Technology (Guarantee) Ltd (FITIS) the apex body for the ICT industry in Sri Lanka, officially launched the “Digital Excellence Awards – 2025” on 6th February 2025. Organized by the Software Chapter of FITIS for the 3rd time, Digital Excellence Awards ceremony is planned for 28th April 2025 at a leading hotel in Colombo.
The theme of the event is “The Future of Enterprise Transformation” and set to establish itself as one of the most prestigious digital excellence awards in the industry. Designed to inspire organizations to embrace disruption and innovation, with a focus on empowering businesses to evolve into Exponential Organizations (ExOs).
The Digital Excellence Awards will be the culmination of the event, the grand finale which would recognize and applaud business enterprises who have adopted digital technologies and have transformed themselves to become Exponential Organizations contributing towards economic prosperity for the industry and country. The event hopes to attract more than 300 delegates from private and government organizations locally and regionally to a common forum and gain insights on how their companies can benefit through digital transformation and move forward amidst a competitive market space.
Themed ‘The Future of Enterprise Transformation’, this year’s awards will recognize top companies for their innovative achievements ranging from digital transformation, business and IT agility, customer centricity, cross-industry partnering and collaboration, as well as product and service innovation.
The awards will also recognize organizations making a significant contribution to the acceleration of digital transformation throughout the industry and across the country. The winners will be nominated to the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) Awards this year.
FITIS is the apex body of the ICT sector in the country covering all major industry segments such as Hardware, Software, Training & Education, Communication, Digital Services and Professional. Over the last 2 decades, FITIS has been actively contributing towards changing the landscape of the Sri Lankan ICT industry.
“FITIS is proud to organize Digital Excellence Awards for the third time, a very timely initiative to recognize the enterprises for their efforts on their digital transformation journey,” said Indika De Zoysa Chairman of FITIS. He also emphasized the organization's commitment to advancing the digital economy through initiatives like the Digital Excellence Awards. These awards encourage companies to assess their digital maturity, receive expert evaluations, and implement recommended improvements, thereby fostering enterprise transformation. .
Speaking about the uniqueness of the event, Indika stated: This event is different from other awards as we evaluate end-customer adoption while also recognizing partner organizations that played a key role in the success journey. Additionally, we have introduced a new category, the 'Innovation Leadership Awards,' to honor leaders who have significantly contributed to the transformation journey. This initiative aligns with FITIS's broader mission to drive digital economy and working closely with the Government of Sri Lanka to expand the country’s digital economy to USD 15 Billion by 2030 from the current value of USD 4 Billion.
FITIS Digital Excellence Framework derived from Cognizant Framework which will be used for assessing the digital maturity of organizations. They can apply under five unique categories, (i) Digitized Customer Experience (ii) Business Model Innovation (iii) Customer Centric Process Automation (iv) Workforce and Partner Enablement, (v) Digital Pioneer Awards, will be assessed using FITIS Digital Maturity Assessment Framework. Digital Innovation Awards will be considered for the individual projects or products ranging from (i) Digital Government, (ii) EduTech, (iii) FinTech, (iv) Smart Cities, (v) HealthTech and (vi) AgriTech. Entries will be evaluated by an eminent panel of jury members who have been pioneers in their respective fields and have contributed in the development of the industry and economy. The stage of digital transformation maturity for each domain ranges from “Merit”, “Bronze”, “Silver” and “Gold”.
