EPF’s listed equity portfolio up by Rs.10bn in three months

The listed equities portfolio of country’s largest retirement fund, the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), had increased by Rs.10 billion in the third quarter of 2020.

As of 30 September 2020, the EPF has invested in 81 listed equities. During this period the market value was reported as Rs.63.76 billion. The value stood at Rs.53.58, at the end of the June quarter 2020.

Accordingly, as at the end of third-quarter 2020 the market value of the listed equity portfolio of the EPF had increased by Rs.10.14 billion whilst comparing to the end of the previous quarter.

However, the EPF has invested a total of Rs.84.19 billion in these 81 listed equities.

Accordingly, as at 30 September 2020, the unrealized loss of listed equity investment portfolio of the EPF stood at Rs.20.64 billion.
