It has been proposed to supply Fire-Fighting Equipment and Vehicles in order to enhance the capacity of Fire Brigade Unit in Municipal Council in Colombo. The proposal of Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs to discuss with Unicredit Bank in Austria and enter in to an agreement to obtain an interest free loan of Euro 10.5 million in this purpose, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers recently.

Furthermore Prime Minister had proposed to enter into an agreement with Unicredit Bank in Austria to obtain a Loan of Euro 4.5 million to cover the cost of funding for the supply of Medical equipment to Medical Faculties in Rajarata and Eastern Universities and Faculty of Allied Health Science in Peradeniya University.
