Flavors of Sri Lanka: A Memorable Culinary Showcase in Nepal

The “Flavours of Sri Lanka” Food Week, held from 12–18 April 2026 at MYNT Restaurant, Vivanta Kathmandu, concluded successfully following a week-long celebration of Sri Lanka’s rich and diverse culinary heritage. Organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Kathmandu, the event provided guests with a unique opportunity to experience the vibrant flavours and traditions of Sri Lankan gastronomy.

The Food Week was ceremonially inaugurated on 12 April 2026 by Ambassador Ruwanthi Delpitiya, with a ribbon-cutting and the lighting of the traditional oil lamp, symbolizing an auspicious beginning. The opening night dinner was graced by Heads of Diplomatic Missions in Kathmandu, alongside distinguished members of the business community.

Throughout the week, guests indulged in an authentic selection of Sri Lankan cuisine, expertly curated by Chef Prashantha Gunasekara from Taj Samudra. The menu showcased the depth and diversity of Sri Lanka’s culinary traditions, earning widespread appreciation from patrons.

The event served as an effective platform to promote Sri Lanka’s culture, hospitality, and gastronomic excellence in Nepal, further strengthening cultural ties and fostering goodwill between the two nations.
