Foreign buying for sixth consecutive day

Though transactions at the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) decreased today, foreign buying rather than foreign selling was prominent for the sixth consecutive day.

Accordingly, the net foreign buying reached Rs. 95 million. Foreign investors bought shares to the tune of Rs. 258 million while they sold shares amounting to Rs. 163 million.

Foreign investor participation at the Colombo Stock Exchange today was 52 percent.

While trading at the CSE showed a downward trend the All Share Price Index closed 11.05 points lower at 5,933.52 while S&P Sri Lanka Price Index closed 3.83 points lower at 3,236.29.

Turnover was Rs. 408 million with 13.5 million shares being traded.

Among them, Nestlé closed Rs. 40 lower at Rs. 2,000 while John Keells closed 50 cents lower at Rs. 224.50.

Today’s two crossings were by the Commercial Bank at Rs. 114.50 per share. The value of these two transactions is Rs. 0.92 million.
