Ideal Motors marks Inaugural Day organizing a life-giving Blood Donation Campaign

Supporting critically ill patients return to good health, the Welfare Committee of Ideal Motors, hosted a well-organized Blood Donation Campaign recently.

The meaningful program held on 3 September, at the Ideal Motors, Central Workshop premises, located at 75, Kandawala Road, Ratmalana, marked the inauguration of Ideal Motors and also commemorated Founder’s Day, the birthday of Nalin Welgama, the company’s Founder and Chairman, which falls on 05 September.

In solidarity with the nation, recognizing the importance of helping critically ill patients recover, the Ideal Motors Welfare Committee and staff, coordinated the noteworthy Blood Donation Campaign for the seventh consecutive year.

As a company deeply committed to supporting the country combat the Covid-19 pandemic and overcome immense challenges, during the last few years, the company’s Welfare Committee have engaged in a range of social service initiatives.

Among these programs included the donation of washing machines and waste bins to the Base Hospital Mulleriyawa. The equipment was handed over by the Chairman Nalin Welgama. Additionally, six laptops were presented to the Cardiology Unit of the Colombo National Hospital, for the crucial task of recording patients’ data.

Ideal Motors also provided the Ministry of Health with a stock of personal protective clothing and accessories required for health service frontline staff. Company personnel handed over the items to Ministry officials at the Gangarama Temple in Colombo. A fully equipped ambulance was also handed over to the Madura Vithana Foundation.

Several other commendable social welfare programs have also been undertaken by the Company such as implementing a drinking water project for 1500 severely affected families in the Namalpura area located in the Anuradhapura District, providing school stationary including books, bags, shoes and other necessities to children of the Thalgaswewa Vidyaravinda Vidyalaya, Nonchchiyagama. The company also ensured the school was equipped with adequate drinking water.

Other projects included constructing of a courtyard for the Bo Tree and donating a Buddhist statue to the Diyapattugama Temple in Kechitiyagala, donating vital computers to the Diyapaththugama S.A. Welgama Junior School and also presenting the Kataragama Temple and the Atamasthanadhipati Thero of the Anuradhapura Temple with valuable Mahindra Electric three-wheelers.
