Leadership for Change: Enduring Skills for Change Masters

The talk of the month this November at the Colombo School of Business Management  (CSBM) is “Leadership for Change, Enduring Skills for Change Masters” and it will be delivered by Prof. Ranjith Bandara Senior Professor in Economics at the University of Colombo on 27th November 2019 from 9am to 1 pm as an interactive session. Prof. Bandara uniquely combines corporate experience and practical knowledge and will deliver a relatable session on “Change Masters”.

"Organisations everywhere now operate in an environment of rapid, on-going and disruptive change. Leaders at various levels in any organisations play a key role managing such change, which can include system-wide and local reforms, restructuring and innovations Often, many planned changes are not implemented in practice as originally conceived. This session examines some of the forces of change in society today, focusing in particular on both barriers and facilitators. Thus, participants will develop deeper understandings of change processes, appreciate the complexities of these processes and identify some strategies to successfully lead change. It responds to the need for new kinds of leadership competencies and skills, which are in demand at local, national, international and global levels".

“Talk of the month” series was initiated by the Colombo School of Business and Management (CSBM) as a platform for celebrated Sri Lankans to share their stories with the budding Corporates  and Entrepreneurs in a structured learning and knowledge sharing model with the aim of grooming and inspiring a generation of corporate, business and community leaders in the country. The inaugural ‘Talk of the Month’ of this program series titled ‘Emotional Intelligence” was conducted by Prof. Ranjith Bandara, Senior Professor of Economics of the University of Colombo. The second in this program series on “Practical applications of Mindfulness in Corporate Life” was conducted by a renowned Corporate Trainer, Executive Coach, Author Mr. Deepal Sooriyarachchi. The third session featured Gen. Daya Ratnayake 20th Army commander and he spoke on Creating and sustaining a winning mindset. The last session was done by Bhatya and Santhush (BNS) on Building your brand local to global.
