Likelihoods of Japanese car prices rising in Sri Lanka

December, 11, 2014

With the Japanese Yen recovering while compared to the US Dollar, there are likelihoods of prices of Japanese vehicles and goods imported to Sri Lanka rising again.

With the Japanese Yen depreciating as never before during recent times, the Japanese vehicle prices saw a sharp decrease in the Sri Lankan market which benefitted the customers.

However, according to foreign media reports, the Yen has continued to strengthen during the last three days when compared to the US Dollar.

Hence, there are likelihoods of Japanese vehicle prices rising again in Sri Lanka, Vehicle Importers’ Association chairman Indika Sampath Merinchige told www.adaderanabiz.lk

Meanwhile, analysts claim that the recovery of the Japanese Yen as against the US Dollar is only a short term trend and that there are possibilities of it depreciating further next year.
