Litro to buy 656,298 empty LPG Cylinders from Indian firm for Rs. 2 Bn

Recent Cabinet decisions outline that the Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Lakshman Kiriella, Minister of Public Enterprises and Kandy Development, to purchase 656,298 empty LP gas cylinders with safety valves (various sizes) from M/s Mauriya Udyog Ltd., for Rs. 2,057.1 million (Rs. 2.05 billion).

Mauriya Udyog Ltd. is an Indian leading exporter an manufacturer of welded steel cylinders and said to be India’s largest manufacturer and exporter of LPG cylinders, valves, regulators and related accessories, having an annual production of about 4 million for LPG cylinders and 5 million for valves, whereas for regulators it is about 4 million units. Company is a Government of India recognized Trading House, for consistent export of products to various parts of the world including Afghanistan, Angola, Australia, Anguilla, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Barbados, Benelux, Benin, Botswana, BVI, Bulgaria, Cape Verde, Cambodia, Cameroon, Canada, Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Cyprus, Denmark, Djibouti, Dominican Republic, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Somalia, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, UAE, Uganda, UK, Zambia, Zimbabwe and several other countries, according to the company profile.
