Maruti Alto 800 gets a limited edition variant called Maximum with extra features. Limited edition tag is not new to the Alto badge and its always been somewhat the same story on what is offered over usual bells and whistles.

Alto 800 Maximum gets body graphics in the form of decals, roof lip spoiler, keyless entry (remote), music system with speakers and artificial leather seat covers. Most of customers drive straight to third party car decorators after performing first drive / showroom exit ceremony and get the above accessories installed in their Alto 800 cars before bringing to their homes for first time. Some dealers have their own aftermarket mod shop under the same roof where they sell Maruti Suzuki cars so as to make a package deal with customers. It is good that Maruti gives those essential features right from factory so that buyers need not worry about voiding original warranty of their car.

Recently, Maruti Suzuki’s K series petrol engine crossed 25 lakh (2.5 million) production milestone. K-series engine made debut in 2008 and three variants of same are propelling some of best selling cars in India. K-10 1 litre engine is seen in Alto K10, Celerio, Wagon R; K-12 1.2 litre motor powers Swift, Ritz and DZire; and K-14 1.4 litre engine pushes Ertiga. Known for being light, compact and fuel efficient, K series engines have completely replaced earlier Maruti Suzuki engines. K-engines are also used with Compressed Narutal Gas (CNG) and Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) fuels.
