As the Guinness World Record Attempt for the World’s Longest Sensory Board gets closer, Dr Anton James, Director of The Tree House International and Founder of Merak has been travelling from the North to the South of the island, conducting community centric Autism awareness programmes. Reaching out to parents, teachers and community workers, particularly in traditionally ‘tough to reach’ communities, the campaign has focused not only on imparting knowledge, and deconstructing stigma, but also on listening to, and learning about, the lived experiences of people on the Autism Spectrum.
By bringing together artists, educators, corporations, families, and communities, Merak 2026 aims to build sustained awareness around Autism while demonstrating how sustainability, education, and inclusion can intersect to create meaningful social change and national transformation.
The World’s Longest Sensory Board will be open to the public on 16th and 17th May at the BMICH. Merak 2026 is supported by title sponsors Nyne Hotels and The Kayden Cares Framework, along with Mental Health and Strategic Partner – I See You and the Infinite Grace Foundation
