The debenture issue by the Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka PLC has been oversubscribed on the opening day itself.

The bank was to issue 20 million unsecured redeemable debentures at an issue price of Rs. 100 each. However, since the issue had received over 20 million applications for subscriptions the list had been closed at 4.30 pm today (05 November).
