State Minister of Finance, Dr. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, said 112 vehicles imported into Sri Lanka through illegal methods have been seized by the Fraud and Corruption Investigation Commission.

The Minister mentioned that their value exceeds 700 crore rupees. From 2015 to 2022, these vehicles have been imported into Sri Lanka through various illegal methods. These vehicles are to be confiscated from the people who are currently using them.

The Minister further stated that it is the responsibility of the buying parties to find out whether the vehicles have been imported through proper methods.
