The Investments Promotion Minister says that he has instructed his officials to find out whether there are any blacklisted individuals among the foreign investors coming into Sri Lanka.

Now, in matters relating to providing investment opportunities these issues are also being looked into, said Investments Promotion Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardene.

While attention is being focused internationally towards investing in Sri Lanka, the Sri Lanka Board of Investment (BOI) has approved 40 investment projects during the first quarter of 2014. Apart from these, 38 investment agreements have been signed with investors.

These include hotels, guest houses, housing projects and mixed development projects, says the BOI.
