NLF announced the appointment of Suresh M. Amerasekera as their new CEO with effect from 9th June 2020.Up to now he was functioning as the COO, from September 2nd 2019
Suresh is a Senior Banker, with over 35 years of experience in the Finance Industry. He last held the position as the CEO of Pan Oceanic Bank, Solomon Islands from May 2016 to September 2018. Prior to that he held the position as the CEO of Housing Development Finance Corporation and Orient Finance PLC.
For the last 12 years he held five positions in the “C Suite” in 2 Banks and 3 Finance Companies, including the current position.
He has also served as the Assistant General Manager at Seylan Bank and as the Chief Operating Officer at Alliance Finance Co PLC and had his initial training in banking at the Colombo branches of State Bank of India and Bank of America.
Mr. Amerasekera holds a MBA (International Business) from the Edith Cowan University, Western Australia and Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting from Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK.
He has a proven track record in Strategy Formulation, Corporate and Retail Lending, and Risk Management.
According to the Chairman of the Company Mr. Victor Ramanan, Suresh‘s substantial exposure in the industry would definitely help the company on its restructuring and strategy formulation to meet the new challenges in the industry.
NLF was incorporated as a public quoted company on July 1987 and the current directors are Mr. V.R.Ramanan, (Chairman), Mr. U.H. Dharmadasa (Deputy Chairman),Mr. H.J.C.Perera, Mr. J. Rudra, Mr. P.M.L.K.Karunaratne and Mr. K.M.S Kandegedera.
