NCE calls on exporters to seek national recognition through Export Awards 2026

August, 25, 2026

The National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE)  invites eligible Sri Lankan exporters to submit their applications for the NCE Export Awards 2026, providing businesses with an opportunity to gain national recognition for their achievements in international trade. Applications for the 34th NCE Export Awards are now open and will close on 30 September 2026.

As Sri Lanka’s premier national awards programme dedicated to the export sector, the NCE Export Awards has, for more than three decades, recognised companies that have showcased resilient performance in international markets and contributed to the country’s export economy. For exporters, the award carries significance as a recognised distinction that can be used to communicate their achievements to customers, business partners and other stakeholders in Sri Lanka and overseas.

Winning an NCE Export Award provides companies with the right to use the official winner’s logo, giving them a recognised mark that can be incorporated into corporate communications and business material. Companies can display the award recognition in their email signatures and other communications, while many also use the winner’s logo on product packaging to communicate their achievement directly to customers and business partners.

The recognition also has relevance beyond the domestic market. Exporters participating in overseas exhibitions and international trade events can use the award and trophy as part of their corporate representation, signaling their achievement and national recognition to prospective buyers and international business contacts. For companies competing in global markets, such recognition is a useful point of distinction and adds credibility to the company’s profile.

The value of the award is also reflected within the organisation. Export achievements are built through the combined efforts of management and employees across a business. National recognition gives senior management an opportunity to acknowledge that contribution and recognise the commitment of teams involved in developing and sustaining the company’s export performance. For employees, such recognition provides an acknowledgement of the work behind the company’s achievements and can serve as a source of motivation.

The awards also encourage exporters to assess their performance and pursue higher standards in their respective fields. The process of participating in a national awards programme provides companies with an opportunity to examine their progress against established evaluation criteria, identify areas requiring attention and maintain a focus on quality, innovation and competitiveness in international markets.

Sri Lankan exports have marked remarkable growth in 2026 thus far, with total export earnings surpassing the US$10.4 billion milestone during the first six months of 2026, recording a 3.3% year-on-year increase. In this light, the NCE Export Awards provides an opportunity for individual companies to have their own contribution assessed and recognised at national level, while also encouraging companies to maintain standards that support their competitiveness in international markets.

The NCE is currently conducting briefing sessions for prospective applicants to provide guidance on the application process, evaluation criteria and other important aspects of the awards programme. Exporters interested in participating are encouraged to attend these sessions and gain a clear understanding of the requirements before submitting their applications.

The NCE Export Awards 2026 is therefore an opportunity for eligible exporters to place their achievements before a national evaluation process and secure recognition that can carry significance in both domestic and international business settings. With applications closing on 30 September 2026, the NCE encourages exporters to make use of the briefing sessions and submit their applications within the stipulated period.

The deadline for applications is 30 September 2026, while the winners will be recognised at the 34th Annual NCE Export Awards Ceremony on 11 December 2026. Download Application from www.nce.lk
