NDB Bank’s Technological Innovation Commemorated at the LankaPay Technnovation Awards 2023

NDB Bank was recently awarded a Silver Award for Financial Institution of the Year for Adopting LankaSign Digital Signatures and a Merit Award for Bank of the Year for Excellence in Customer Convenience in Category B, at the Lankapay Technnovation Awards 2023 held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo.

In keeping in line with the Bank’s brand promise, NDB consistently endeavors to facilitate a smoother and more efficient user experience to all its customers by utilizing all resources available, and to introduce state of the art technological advancements, in an industry prone to rapid changes. This is further endorsed by the fact that this is the second consecutive year that NDB has been recognized at the Technnovation Awards for its Excellence in Customer Convenience. The Bank had also secured the Gold Award for Bank of the Year for Financial Inclusivity and Best Common ATM Enabler of the Year the previous year. NDB’s participation and triumphant achievements at the LankaPay Technnovation Awards, which is Sri Lanka’s pioneering and the only payment technology innovation awards, is a testimony of the Bank’s continued commitment to introduce the latest in technological and digital advancements to its customers.

The Technnovation awards are organized and presented by LankaPay, which is operated by LankaClear and was held under the patronage of the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe as the Chief Guest. “The objective of the awards competition,” according to LankaPay “is to recognize the torchbearers of payment technology innovations in the country who have steadfast to the cause of promoting electronic payments and constantly thriving for enhancing customer convenience.”  LankaClear as the operator of Sri Lanka’s National Payment Network – LankaPay, is the national payment network that functions under the guidance and supervision of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

NDB NEOS, which comprises of the Bank’s Mobile and Online Banking platforms, is the flagship digital offering of the bank. The enhancements introduced to the NDB NEOS platform during the recent past are industry-firsts, with the ability to perform fund transfers, pay bills etc all through the same application. The AI-enabled video KYC (vKYC) based online account opening facility within NDB NEOS, enables new customers to open NDB accounts from wherever they are. Additionally, the Bank also became the first in the industry to tie up with the Credit Information Bureau (CRIB) in order to create a hassle free and convenient service in which the Bank’s customers can register and request for their individual credit reports (iReport) and individual credit score reports (CRIB Score) from wherever they are in Sri Lanka through NDB NEOS.
