New business plans from SriLankan and Mihin Lanka: SriLankan losses rise

SriLankan Airlines and Mihin Lanka are reported to be preparing to put forward their latest business plans.

The Mid-Year Fiscal Position Report 2015 released by the Finance Ministry reveals that the government has decided to prepare comprehensive business plans for SriLankan Airlines and Mihin Lanka and that these two airlines would be amalgamated in the future.

Accordingly, these two airlines are reportedly preparing the relevant business plans.

Meanwhile, during the first four months of 2015, SriLankan Airlines has recorded a loss of Rs. 4.9 billion and this has increased its overall losses to Rs. 130.9 billion.

During the first four months of 2015, SriLankan Airlines has recorded profits of Rs. 39.6 billion while its expenditure has been Rs. 44.9 billion.
