SriLankan Airlines would look at revamping its destinations post-COVID-19 which could include more destinations in China and new destinations such as Seoul and Sydney, a top official said Monday.

“We plan to resume flights from August 1, but we may not go back to the same destinations, SriLankan Chairman Ashok Pathirage said whilst addressing a press conference on Monday.

“If you look at India, I think 30%- 40% of our revenue came from India and we had about almost for a week 140 flights only to India. But currently India’s situation in terms of COVID wise it is not very stable but we hope by the time we re-open the airport that things would be more stabilized but our idea is to fly into destinations like China, which is much safer and we are looking at new destinations like Korea, Seoul,” Pathirage said.

“ Melbourne we will continue to fly and we are looking at launching to Sydney as well. The Maldives which is expected to re-open for tourists in July 1 is another destination SriLankan is looking at," he added.
