Non-performing loans take a leap at Lanka Puthra Development Bank

The non-performing loan percentage of Lanka Puthra Development Bank which assisted in facilitating small and medium businesses has hugely increased to 46.7 percent by end 2013, it has been revealed.

In 2012 the bank’s non-performing loan was 45.8 percent.

Hence, the government is to focus more attention on the weaker loans of the bank.

This bank maintains eight branches and its deposit base decreasing by 05 percent to Rs. 228 million by end last year is significant.

Apart from this the bank’s loan portfolio has decreased by 2.5 percent to Rs. 2,461 million.
