Openet Expands Policy and Charging Solution for SLT with VoLTE

Ireland’s Dublin based telecom sector software vendor Openet that markets products used by telecommunications service providers to commercialize and analyze activity on their network through processing customers' data, late May 2018 had announced that Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), Sri Lanka’

‘s state owned telecom operator, is extending their Openet Policy and Charging solution to support Voice over LTE (VoLTE) as a further advancement of its successful 4G network, a report in total telecom – a telecom industry publication recently outlined.

Accordingly, SLT is rolling out VoLTE with the objective of enabling better quality voice and more optimal use of network resources, as part of SLT’s plans to provide digital services to both consumer and business segments.

“Over the course of our relationship with Openet we have consistently been impressed with the company’s responsiveness, enabling us to test, deploy and operate its solutions with ease.” The report had quoted  Priyantha Fernandez, CTO of SLT.

He had further outlined that this extension of Openet’s service will not only allow us to rapidly enable high quality VoLTE, but help us further on the journey to providing advanced digital services to our customers.

“We are very happy to build on an already successful relationship with a best-of-breed vendor like Openet” SLT CTO Fernandez had said.

“Since 2011 our solutions have ensured that SLT is at the forefront of offering innovative new services to its subscribers in a highly competitive region”, Jason Buckalew, VP of Sales at Openet had told reporters adding that they are proud to further support SLT’s 4G advancement by offering subscribers exciting new services such as VoLTE. These will serve to enhance customer experience while allowing SLT to optimise network capacity investments.
