Operation begins in US to promote Sri Lanka’s capital market

The first investment forum to promote Sri Lanka’s capital market began at New York in the United States in the presence of Minister Sarath Amunugama, Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Sri Lanka Securities & Exchange Commission chairman Dr. Nalaka Godahewa and Colombo Stock Exchange chairman Vajira Kulatillake.

A large number from listed companies in Sri Lanka and those involve in the capital market were in attendance while over 190 fund managers participated at this forum organized by the Colombo Stock Exchange in collaboration with the Securities & Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka.

This forum, assisted by the Sri Lankan embassy in the US and held at the J.W. Marriot Essex House Hotel is titled ‘Invest Sri Lanka – Investor Forum’.

The delegates attending the forum are from business entities like John Keells, Commercial Bank, Hatton National Bank, National Development Bank, DFCC Bank, Hayleys, Access Engineering, People’s Leasing, Hemas Holdings, Softlogic, Tokyo Cement, Laugfs Holdings, Sunshine Holdings, MTD Walkers etc.
