People's Leasing and Finance PLC (People’s Leasing) presented a Passenger Transport Bus to the Community Development Foundation of Seruwila Mangala Raja Maha Viharaya on the 06th of September 2022 as a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.

Presentation was made at the request made by the Chief Incumbent of Seruwila Mangala Raja Maha Viharaya and the Patron of Seruwila Community Development Foundation Venerable Aludeniye Subhodhi Thero.

Mr. Sujeewa Rajapakse, the Former Chairman of People’s Leasing, symbolically handed over the presentation in the presence of Mr. Shamindra Marcelline, Chief Executive Officer /General Manager of People’s Leasing and the corporate management of People’s Leasing. Venerable Aludeniye Subhodhi Thero accepted the presentation on behalf of the Community Development Foundation of the Seruwila Mangala Rajamaha Viharaya.

Venerable Aludeniye Subhodhi Thero said that, “School children of Seruwila Sumedhankarapura, Kawanthissapura, Block C, Serunuwara, along Somawathiya Road, and Mahaweligama areas, face many hardships as they go to school due to frequent wild elephant attacks.” Thero also expressed sincere gratitude to the Former Chairman of People’s Leasing Mr. Sujeewa Rajapakse, the Chief Executive Officer / General Manager of People’s Leasing, Mr. Shamindra Marcelline, and the corporate management for the presentation made.

Mr. Sujeewa Rajapaksa stated that, “We are very happy to support this worthy cause as one of our CSR initiatives. We hope that these school children would make the best use of the transport facility provided to regularly attend school, do their studies well and as leave the bus in good condition for their younger brothers and sisters to be benefitted.”

Mr. Chaminda Athaluwage, the Chairman of Road Development Authority, Mr. Dharmathilaka the Zonal Director of Kantale Educational Zone, members of the Community Development Foundation, members of the Seruwila Mangala Maha Chaithya Wardana Society, devotees of Seruwila Mangala Rajamaha Viharaya and the Principal and students of Seruwila Maha Vidyalaya also participated in the event. Students also received school bags and stationary from People’s Leasing.
