When compared to the US dollar the Sri Lankan Rupee had appreciated by 0.45 percent during the first eight months of this year, says the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

Meanwhile, from 01 January to 18 August 2014 the Sri Lankan Rupee has appreciated 3.50 percent as compared to the Euro and 2.62 percent as compared to the Canadian dollar.

Similarly, during this period the Sri Lankan Rupee has appreciated by 1.87 percent against the Chinese Yuan Renminbi, but has depreciated 0.99 percent against the Sterling Pound, 1.40 percent against the Indian Rupee, 1.22 percent against the Singapore dollar and 3.79 percent against the Australian dollar.
