Mobitel has come forward to sponsor the 16th edition of the Raigam Tele’es Nominations Evening which will be held on a grand scale on 28th February 2020 at the Kingsbury Hotel Colombo. Over 16 years, Raigam Tele’es has gained the stature of a very special event for all stakeholders of the entire tele-media industry. This year’s theme “Nidahase 16” symbolises the independence of Raigam Teles, over the past 16 years. Raigam Tele’es has pioneered the declaration and felicitation of the nominees recommended for awards at a grand ceremony prior to the final event thereby marking a revolutionary change in the award ceremony culture in Sri Lanka. This Nominations Evening being facilitated by Mobitel is eagerly awaited by the industry as it provides an opportunity to felicitate all the nominees who have been shortlisted for the awards.
The nominations will be made across various categories: Local tele-dramas that telecast the last episode in 2019; other shows telecast during 2019; and News Readers and Program Presenters. Applicants and the industry, in general, are waiting with bated breath to hear the nominations.
SMS voting system will be opened from after the Nominations evening from 28th February to 20th March 2020. 25 contestants from SMS-voting will be selected to receive invitations to witness Raigam Tele’es 2019 which is slated to take place on 21st March 2020 at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre. The numbers for the SMS Poll will be published closer to the date of voting. Furthermore, Mobitel will felicitate participating artists as a recognition for their service done to the media industry.
