The final report of the census held by the Department of Census & Statistics on the details of the deaths, disabled, destructions to property and assets caused by the war in the north and the east could be handed over to the Lessons Learned and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) within another three months, said the department’s Director General.

Director General of the Department of Census & Statistics D.C.A. Gunawardena said in Colombo today that this census was held on the recommendations of the LLRC.

The census has been completed and now the department was studying it, he added.

Almost all connected to this census have provided the necessary information, he said further.
