Rockland Group strengthens technology leadership with strategic appointment

As part of this journey, Rockland Group has appointed Tharindra Kulasinghe to its Board of Directors as a Non-Executive Director, effective immediately. His appointment reflects Rockland’s forward-looking commitment to complementing its century-old family stewardship with independent expertise in areas critical to the company’s next phase of growth, particularly technology, digital infrastructure, and data-driven decision-making.

He is a seasoned technology leader with over 16 years of experience across global manufacturing, supply chain management, capital markets, and financial services. He holds a First Class Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering with Business Management from the University of Warwick. He currently serves as the Chief Information Officer of Capital Alliance Limited (CAL), where he leads initiatives in digital banking, cybersecurity, and analytics, and will continue in this role alongside his new appointment.

Founded in 1924, Rockland Distilleries is a fourth-generation, family-owned enterprise and Sri Lanka’s first commercial distillery. The company is renowned for its award-winning portfolio, including Ceylon Arrack and the internationally acclaimed Colombo No.7 Gin range. Rockland operates the country’s first certified ZeroCarbon distillery and maintains an island-wide distribution network serving both local and international markets.
