Sarvodaya Development Finance PLC (SDF) has been ranked 1st among Category 3 listed finance companies in Sri Lanka for the first quarter of the 2026/2027 financial year, according to the latest comprehensive financial performance ranking published by K Seeds Investments (Pvt) Ltd.
The ranking evaluates listed finance companies across ten equally weighted key performance indicators and categorizes institutions according to asset size. SDF was placed in Category 3, which comprises listed finance companies with an asset base between Rs. 20 billion and Rs. 50 billion, and secured the 1st position.
The achievement reflects SDF’s performance across a broad range of financial and operational measures during the quarter ended 30 June 2026. The company recorded revenue of Rs. 1.92 billion, representing year-on-year growth of 44.4%, while profit increased by 57.3% year-on-year to Rs. 201.44 million.
SDF’s asset base stood at approximately Rs. 38.8 billion during the period. The company also reported a Return on Equity of 4.45%, Return on Assets of 0.53%, a Net Profit Margin of 10.51% and a Net Interest Margin of 2.89%.
Operational performance indicators also supported SDF’s overall position in the ranking. Operating leverage stood at 27.94%, while loan growth was recorded at 2.99% compared with the previous quarter.
K Seeds Investments’ ranking methodology assesses financial institutions against ten indicators, including Cost to Income Ratio, Return on Equity, Return on Assets, Net Profit Margin, Net Interest Margin, Impairment to Loan Book, Credit to Deposits, Operating Leverage, Net Profit Growth and Loan Growth. The use of multiple equally weighted indicators provides a broader assessment of institutional performance beyond any single financial measure.
SDF’s 1st ranking is particularly significant in this context, reflecting its performance across profitability, revenue growth, balance sheet strength and operational efficiency during the quarter.
