Savonta Services, a leading eco-friendly vehicle service station in the country, bagged the Merit Award in the 'Vehicle Service' category at the Presidential Environment Awards. The award ceremony organised by the Central Environment Authority was held at the BMICH in Colombo under the patronage of President Ranil Wickremesinghe. The Award was received by Savonta Services Managing Director Dushantha Lakpriya, who was honoured with the Best Young Entrepreneur- Sabaragamuwa Province Award in 2020. Having been founded at Getahetta, Avissawella in 2007, Savonta Services currently provides all services related to vehicle servicing under one roof with modern technology and experienced technicians. It has 25 employees, and serves more than 4,800 customers. Unlike an ordinary service station, a person who walks into Savonta Services will find it lined with flowering trees, gorgeous ponds filled with pet fish, different types of birds and waterfalls which makes it look like nothing but a wonderful garden.

Savonta Services has been running for 17 years with the approval of the Central Environment Authority, and is proud of having been able to avoid causing any environmental damage to the surrounding houses, paddy fields and crops. It is equipped with facilities including two luxury lounges, a library, a restaurant and an orderly system for the disposal of waste and wastewater. "My primary aim is to run the facility without harming the living beings and the environment. It will make the customers feel as if they are not at a regular vehicle service station, but at their own house. The inspiration of my father, who truly loves the environment, is one of the reasons behind the success of my business. I express my gratitude to the staff, Ratnapura District's Central Environmental Authority officials, as well as thousands of customers who encouraged us." said Dushantha Lakpriya.
