The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) has issued a formal warning to social media users regarding the unauthorized use of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) brand.

Under the directive, individuals are prohibited from using the CSE name or logo and cannot imply they are a "Stock Exchange". Additionally, only Registered Investment Advisors are permitted to publish market predictions or recommendations. The SEC stated that strict legal action will be taken against those who violate these capital market regulations.
