In a heartfelt gesture, the Serendib Team chose to honour and acknowledge the elderly by inviting them to be part of the Annual Dalada Perahera. Named "Serendib Uththama Dalada 2023," this initiative extends an opportunity to over 100 seniors to visit the sacred Dalada Maligawa, where they can pay their respects at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and subsequently witness the grand perahera. While initially launched in 2019, the program encountered setbacks due to the pandemic and other challenges. However, in 2023, it has been revitalized, with a strong intention to carry it forward in the years to come.

True to their commitment of nourishing the nation, Serendib Flour Mills has embraced the role of meeting the needs of more than a hundred elderly individuals residing in elderly homes across the Central and Wayamba provinces. The program ensures their transportation, seating arrangements, refreshments, and other essentials are meticulously taken care of, allowing them to enjoy the perahera in utmost comfort and dignity.

As the program concluded, these elderly individuals bestowed their heartfelt blessings upon Serendib for orchestrating this noble social mission. Through this initiative, their long-cherished dream of witnessing the grandeur of the Dalada Perahera amidst the company of local and foreign spectators was beautifully realized.
