The Sri Lanka Association of Software Service Companies (SLASSCOM) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) to facilitate the promotion of the NCCSL initiative, an online platform known as  ‘fromsrilanka.com’, among SLASSCOM member companies.

SLASSCOM members will have the opportunity to feature their products and services on this online platform which operates as an online B2B marketplace for Sri Lankan companies to promote their products and services to global buyers.

Fromsrilanka.com is Sri Lanka’s one stop online destination to source all Sri Lankan made products and services, owned and managed by The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka. The platform has been designed and developed with the aim of supporting Sri Lankan companies across all industries to promote their products and services into the Global Market.

“We are aware that this is the “LINK” which Sri Lanka was missing. The IT/BPM services industry is booming due to the rapid digital transformation around the world and Sri Lanka has great solutions to offer. Most global companies do their sourcing digitally nowadays, so through this platform those opportunities would easily reach us” says Asela De Livera, President, NCCSL.

“This partnership is in line with the SLASSCOM industry strategy of “Drifting the curve” and will also strengthen the SLASSCOM marketing Forum initiative of promoting and showcasing SLASSCOM member companies and their products and services in high potential countries” stated Channa Manoharan, Chairman, SLASSCOM.

He added “The SLASSCOM industry strategy “Drifting the curve” is for building momentum to come out of the “corner” stronger in challenging situations. When race car drivers approach a bend on the track, unlike ordinary drivers who slow down, they accelerate. This is known as “drifting the curve.” It’s all about how much momentum you have when you come out of the corner.

The knowledge and innovation industry (IT-BPM sector), one of the main export revenue earners of the country and throughout the COVID-19 crisis, has emerged as a beacon of resilience, inspiring and helping other sectors and countries to adapt to the new post-pandemic business reality. The partnerships, commitment and dedication displayed by the sector is a testament to the fact that Sri Lanka is a premier global destination for IT-BPM businesses with a resilient talent pool, infrastructure, government support, and social environment.
