The Sri Lanka Logistics and Freight Forwarders’ Association (SLFFA) will host the National Logistics Awards (NLA) 2026 on 28 October 2026 at the Lumina Ballroom, Cinnamon Life, Colombo, bringing together leaders and professionals from across the country’s logistics and supply chain industry to recognise excellence, innovation and outstanding contribution to the sector.

Held biennially, the National Logistics Awards has evolved into a key platform for recognising organisations and professionals that demonstrate excellence and contribute towards strengthening Sri Lanka’s logistics capabilities and competitiveness.

The 2026 awards will recognise performance across the wider logistics ecosystem, with categories covering freight forwarding, airlines, ocean carriers, courier and express services, transport providers, container depots, logistics software and technology providers, project logistics, customs brokerage, and warehousing and distribution, among others.

Entries will be evaluated by an independent panel comprising representatives from the public sector, corporate sector and academia, together with experienced logistics professionals. The evaluation process will consider key areas including operational competence, service quality, innovation, track-and-trace capabilities, reliability and timeliness, together with relevant industry performance indicators and international logistics benchmarks.

Recognising an Industry That Keeps Sri Lanka Connected

The National Logistics Awards 2026 also provides an opportunity to recognise the resilience of an industry that has continued to keep Sri Lanka connected with global markets despite unprecedented challenges.

From the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and Sri Lanka’s economic crisis to geopolitical tensions and the Red Sea shipping disruptions, logistics professionals have continued to facilitate the movement of essential goods, exports and imports while supporting manufacturers, exporters, retailers and international trade.

Against this backdrop, SLFFA believes recognising excellence is important not only to celebrate achievement, but also to encourage higher professional standards, innovation, digitalisation and continuous improvement across the industry.

The awards also seek to create greater awareness among the younger generation about the diverse career opportunities available within logistics, freight forwarding and supply chain management. Strategically positioned along one of the world’s busiest East-West maritime trade routes, Sri Lanka possesses significant potential to further develop as a regional logistics and distribution hub. SLFFA continues to advocate for greater collaboration between government, industry and other stakeholders to improve the country’s logistics ecosystem, enhance professional standards and strengthen Sri Lanka’s connectivity with global markets.

Established in 1981, SLFFA was formed to bring freight forwarders and logistics service providers under a common industry body and promote the professional development of the sector. Today, the Association is recognised by government authorities, regulatory agencies and industry stakeholders as a leading representative body for Sri Lanka’s logistics and freight forwarding industry.

With more than 182 member companies, representing many of the country’s leading logistics and freight forwarding organisations, SLFFA continues to play an active role in industry advocacy, professional development, education and training, while promoting international best practices across the sector.
