Sri Lanka’s foreign reserves stood at 5,045.52 million US dollars by 30 April 2017, reveals a latest report released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

This is a slight drop when compared against the foreign reserves amounting to 5,117.26 million US dollars in hand by 31 March 2017.

The main reason for this drop in Sri Lanka’s official reserves last month is a slight drop in the foreign exchange records.

During April, the foreign exchange reserves have dropped by 89.89 million US dollars; from 4,162.08 million US dollars to 4,072.19 million US dollars.

The official reserves of Sri Lanka during March 2017 have dropped by 10 per cent as recorded, from 5,634.66 million US dollars of the previous month to 5,119.85 million US dollars.
