Sri Lanka’s New York investment forum in special discussion with US Exchange Commission

It has been revealed that in preparation for the first investment forum to promote Sri Lanka’s capital market at New York in the United States, Colombo Stock Exchange head Vajira Kulatilleke and Securities & Exchange Commission head Dr. Nalaka Godahewa had held in-depth discussions on the current regulatory challenges with the US Securities & Exchange Commission yesterday (03 September).

These discussions had been held yesterday (03 September) during the inauguration event of the investment forum at the New York Stock Exchange. Representatives from the Sri Lanka Securities & Exchange Commission and the Colombo Stock Exchange had explained in detail the forum as well as the development of capital investments in Sri Lanka.

According to adaderanabiz.lk sources in New York, this investment forum begins at 9.00 US time today (04 September). Though initially this was intended to accommodate 150 persons, since there had been a great demand by US fund managers to attend this forum, this number has been increased to 220 persons by now.

While the number of representatives from Sri Lanka’s listed companies and industries attending this forum is 50 the total number of delegates at this forum is 270.

Securities & Exchange Commission head Dr. Nalaka Godahewa and Colombo Stock Exchange head Vajira Kulatilleke had held several interviews with several media institutions including the Wall Street Journal it has been further revealed that Bloomberg News Service has arranged for an interview with Sri Lanka’s Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal.
