Sri Lanka’s tourism earnings drop by 19%

Sri Lanka’s total tourism earnings during the first four months of 2026, from January to April, amounted to US$1.11 billion, according to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

This marks a 19.4% decline compared to the US$1.37 billion recorded during the same period in 2025.

Meanwhile, tourism earnings for April 2026 were reported at US$157.1 million, compared to US$256.7 million recorded in April 2025.
