The SriLankan Flavours campaign is just one of many initiatives of the airline aiming to deliver a superior and quintessentially Sri Lankan inflight experience for its customers.
As the national carrier, we constantly seeks ways to strengthen the link between the airline and the island nation providing our customers, a sense of who we are and what makes us unique.
An integral part of our differentiation strategy was the emphasis of something absolutely unique - Sri Lankan food… with its deep-rooted history; the fusion of tastes, colours and flavors.
The “SriLankan Flavours” initiative was conceptualized in order to showcase what this island nation has to offer for the ‘culinary adventurer’.
We embarked on enhancing the SriLankan meal option onboard all our flights out of Colombo. Almost all flights have one dish that is uniquely SriLankan, together with 2 or 3 other continental options.
New menu additions were introduced on our business class lounges at our home base in Colombo – the Serendib and Serendiva lounges, with many new introductions like traditional porridges, heirloom rice dishes and local desserts.
Our goal was to present our food to a global audience of travelers who are, now more than ever, keen to experience new tastes and flavors.
We wanted to retain authenticity the ingredients packed with nutritional, medicinal value and health benefits
The menu highlights preparation methods from age old recipes that are handed down across generations, combining Sri Lanka’s multi-faceted and multicultural history
