SriLankan Aviation College (SLAC), the training arm of SriLankan Airlines, has been recognised by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as an IATA Authorised Training Centre (ATC) Preferred Partner for 2026, reaffirming its commitment to excellence in aviation training and further strengthening its position among IATA’s leading global training partners. The College, recognised as one of the 10 best-performing IATA Training Centres in the world, has received this award for the second consecutive year.

Awarded globally to high-performing IATA training institutions, the ATC Preferred status recognises training partners that consistently demonstrate excellence in delivering internationally recognised aviation programmes. The recognition is based on several performance indicators, including the number of IATA programmes conducted and student enrolments achieved, reflecting the trust, credibility and strong reputation SLAC has earned as a leading aviation training provider in the region.

SriLankan Aviation College became an IATA Accredited Training Centre in 2008 and was subsequently elevated to IATA Regional Training Partner (RTP) status in 2014. Since then, the College has received numerous accolades from IATA in recognition of its continued excellence and contribution to aviation training and human capital development. Today, SLAC remains the only IATA Regional Training Partner in Sri Lanka and one of only a few such partners in the wider region, underscoring its leadership in professional aviation education and training.

The quality of training delivered at SriLankan Aviation College, combined with its state-of-the-art facilities and long-standing reputation for excellence, has firmly established the College as a leading provider of aviation training in the region. Its students have consistently achieved outstanding academic results, including island-best performances across a range of IATA programmes over the years, further reinforcing the College's reputation for academic excellence.

As an IATA ATC Preferred Partner, SriLankan Aviation College is entitled to a range of exclusive benefits that further enhance its ability to deliver world-class aviation training. The College currently offers a portfolio of internationally recognised IATA programmes, including the IATA Airline Cabin Crew Qualification, IATA Foundation in Travel & Tourism Diploma, IATA Cargo Introductory Qualification and IATA Managing the Travel Business programme, equipping students with the industry knowledge and professional competencies required to succeed in the global aviation and travel sectors.

This latest recognition further strengthens SLAC’s standing as a centre of excellence for aviation and travel industry training, supporting the development of skilled aviation professionals in Sri Lanka and across the region.
